Destination: Nepal
Nepal is not exactly the best family travel destination to visit, but it has much to offer to anyone who is willing to try to travel here with kids. We would not recommend traveling to Nepal with infants, toddlers, or pre-schoolers due to the lack of family-oriented infrastructure. Yet the country is absolutely amazing for families with older kids to explore, and many places to travel to in Nepal.
One thing is for certain: there is much to see and plenty of things to do in Nepal. Check out the buzzing capital Kathmandu, visit remote mountain temples, take a plane to fly over the Himalayas to see the famous Mt. Everest with your own eyes, or hike-hike-hike and hike some more!
Nepal is literally the Heaven for advanced trekkers! 8(!) 8000m+ mountains are located here in Nepal, including Jomolumgma “the Goddess Mother of Mountains” Mt. Everest. Yet there are many easier hiking trails, trekking sites, and Nature places to travel to in Nepal.
Canadian passport holders require a visa to visit Nepal. Nepalese tourist visas are usually issued at the airport on arrival with options to get a 15-day, 30-day, or 90-day visa.
Best time to visit Nepal: September to November. It’s pouring rain all summer, and freezing temperatures in winter.
Yet, whether you have hopped on a quick 3-day trip to Nepal, or plan to spend a few months enjoying stunning Himalayan scenery, there are plenty of things to do and places to see. So buckle-up! Let’s explore some of this curious country!
