Directions
GPS / Google Maps anchor point: Pitt Lake Canoe Adventures.
If you are heading to Pitt Lake from Coquitlam Centre, it will take you about 20 min to half-hour to get there. The road is paved, albeit looks deserted. I've shot amazing “lonely road” photos right past the entrance to Pitt-Addington Marsh a few months ago – you can find it on my Instagram.

Rannie Road at Pitt Lake – Quick Facts
There is a Canoe rental at the end of the road, and you are indeed able to rent out a canoe here at Pitt Lake in the summer months (cash only, mind ya). They have a large paved parking lot right next to it. There are pay-meters around but frankly, I haven't seen anyone actually paying for the parking.
You'll find a set of portable bathrooms next to the rental place. Not “comfort” ones with water and mirrors – regular construction type. So good to plan your little one's bathroom breaks.
Rannie Road at Pitt Lake is 2km long one way. There are no bathrooms along the road.
The road is open-space. There is no shade – so on a sunny day when going biking at Pitt Lake plan for plenty of sunscreen and take as much water with you as possible. There are more bike routes around Pitt Lake.

Katzie Marsh Loop
If you are coming with no strollers or bicycles, there is an option to proceed with the hike into the full loop. The bike trail starts at the end of the road and circles the marshes. The total loop is about 6.5km long. From our understanding, access is restricted to the summer months. We haven't yet tried it, but surely will one day 🙂
