COLUMBIA-SHUSWAP
The Columbia-Shuswap region is located to the East of the Province and borders Alberta‘s notorious Banff National Park. It is home to the famous Revelstoke, Salmon Arm, Sicamous, and Golden. Two significant outdoor attractions reside in Columbia-Shuswap valley – Yoho National Park and Glacier National Park.

Metro Vancouver region is located in South West BC, borders the United States, and is definitely one of the most entertaining destinations for families with kids.
The city of Vancouver – the largest city in British Columbia – is at this regional district’s heart, and offers plenty of things to do for families with kids of all ages.

OKANAGAN
The Okanagan region is located in the Mid-East of the Province and is home to the Okanagan Lake, the famous Kelowna, Penticton, and Osoyoos – definitely the most “delicious” towns in Canada – and is regarded as the “capital of Canadian winemaking”.
For convenience purposes, on our blog, we’ll use “Okanagan” as a reference to all three local regional districts: North Okanagan, Central Okanagan, and Okanagan-Similkameen.

SQUAMISH-LILLOOET
Squamish-Lillooet regional district is located in the South-West of the Province. This unique family-friendly destination is home to the iconic Whistler and Blackcomb ski resort, and some of the most spectacular outdoor experiences in BC.

Small scattered coastal communities of Madeira Park, Pender Harbour, Sechelt, and Gibsons will leave your entire family impressed and wanting more!
For convenience purposes, “Sunshine Coast” on our blog actually covers two regional districts: Sunshine Cost and qathet regional districts, encompassing the towns of Lund and Powell River, as well as some scattered islands such as Savary Island.

Thompson-Nicola regional district is located in Interior BC. Home to Merritt and Kamloops towns, Thompson-Nicola boasts one of the most unique “waterfall treasure locations” – Wells Gray Provincial Park – scoring some of the waterfalls that are more impressive even than Niagara Falls in Ontario.

VANCOUVER ISLAND
Vancouver Island is located in the South-West of the Province and is a unique family-friendly destination to visit in British Columbia in itself definitely worth exploring. It is home to BC Province’s capital Victoria, and to the “surfing capital of Canada” – Tofino.
For convenient purposes for those of you who travel to British Columbia from abroad, on our blog, we’ll use “Vancouver Island” to refer to all regional districts geographically located on Vancouver Island + a few scattered islands such as Quadra and Cortez Islands.
